Bruce Melhuish is a multi-award in Director of Photography based in London and near Bath.

I'm a very confident, organised and practically minded DOP with a vast amount of experience. I pride myself on my understanding of the logistical and creative process required to plan and make a film from pre-production all the way through to post-production.

If I had to describe myself as a DOP I'd say I am a very assured and quiet presence on set. When preparing for his role on Remains of the Day Anthony Hopkins said "When a Butler enters the room it should feel emptier". Thats how I run my camera department - taking the focus away from the camera as much as possible.

I've enjoyed a rather circuitous route to Cinematography having studied Computer Science and Cognitive Science. I went on to work for a major international law firm and then as a consultant for the likes of The British Government, The G8, World Internet Forum, Hydrogen Fuel, IMAX and Arius 3D and many others.

I've always had a passion for film and photography and having friends who are actors, writers and directors I was never far away from helping them make films and I quickly realised that my true passion was filmmaking.

Outside of film I'm very much a country boy and love spending time with my dogs, on horses and being in nature.
